Learn to Sail
This CYA Basic Cruising course is your introduction into the world of sailing. We offer 28-30 hours of Sailing instruction by a CYA certified instructor in a sailing group of a maximum of 6 students. Upon successful completion of this fun and exciting course we encourage you to write the CYA Basic Cruising exam and the Pleasure Craft Operator exam (PCOC).
"As of September 15, 2009, all boaters will be required to have the Pleasure Craft Operator Card in order to operate a powered watercraft."

- Canadian rules and regulations
- Introduction to weather and chart reading
- Boat handling under sail and power
- Man-overboard procedure
- Reefing and knots
- Anchoring and docking
